There had been a few times Warlock forgot that the wand was not a part of him. It was just meant to be a tool, an extension of his arm. Not like a missing piece of who he was.
Head canon fun time: (a little over 3 years here)
Nicholas Arner Boyd with the help of his best friend Lance Burke, set up the Renegades under the instruction of the Judge as Commander Cold and Heatstroke.
R&D was the first major expansion of the task force getting the best scientist possible, Amon Alcalay code named Elementalist, to head the Department.
Bekka later recommended Amelia Enda for the second in command. The first recruit was a kid just out of school named Shane Louis Stevens who got the codename Trixster for his gadgets and brains.
Next by mistake was Wilhelm Haydon who was at the base for another job but the Weather Wand being tested by R&D reacted so violently to him that the Renegades snatched him up and took him as their Weather Warlock.
The Commander would train Trixster while Heat worked with Warlock.A little while later, Amon made the Rainbow Twins, Rover and Ravager. The two would only be used if he was on a mission with them.
Not long after the Team came across another remarkable man who discovered the world beyond a mirror with old tech from the past Mirror Masters. Jack Carrol would be their Mirror Monarch.
A month or so later, Cathrine Lockhart fresh from the academy requested and was granted a position of a second team of Renegades as Golden Glider but chooses the name Silver Skater.
None of them know how long after they noticed the elusive Vladimir Tepes, who’s real name they never could quite figure out, join the team in his own way as Count Boomerang.
During the same time, the Twins found a civilian helping people evacuated an area using music to charm people away. They took him back to the base and he became their Music Maestro.
Last but not least, Benedict joins the Renegades as the Top.

I’ve detailed most of his equipment here. I initially planned for him to have cross boomerangs instead (which would work like giant shurikens for close and medium range) but changed my mind. He’d have them, but he only pulls them out when he had no choice but to fight close-ranged. They’re folded inside the same place which sheaths the tri-blade boomerangs, but not obvious to the eye. I have too many headcanons to list for this guy so I won’t do them here.
And as much as I really want to go with Lieutenant Frisbee, it just doesn’t go with the pattern of names. Doesn’t mean I can’t still call him that, though. Right, Frisbee?
“What bloody ‘ell of a name in Count Boomerang anyway?
“Exactly. *mock teeth bite*”
This question was a tricky one which required a little extensive research and a visit or two to the R&D department. After a few days of pondering over various designs (Commander wasn’t happy), this slide below shows my vision of how he might look like if there was a Boomerang in The Renegades, which brief explanations detailing his equipment.
Most of the boomerangs would be foldable and could snap open into place if handled in the right way. The goggles come with a targeting and data briefing system which connects to the gloves, which could remotely control the boomerangs and change their functions during battle. There are also small boomerangs built into the gloves which could be ejected quickly. And as I was putting this together in a hurry, there is another part of the equipment which could not be seen clearly in the image above. It is mounted at the back and contained 6 folded tri-blade boomerangs, which are theoretically faster.
I was not asked this, but the naming process is also an important one which concerned me. The pattern of a name usually sticks with our gimmicks while replacing the status identification, so the obvious choice would have been “Commander” in place of “Captain”. However, having two commanders in the team would be awkward and extremely confusing. Therefore, after giving it some thought, I have decided that “Count Boomerang” sounded the best among all the other possibilities.
*muffled laughter could be heard over the voice com*
What is it, Heatstroke?
I don’t see why you couldn’t have gone with Lieutenant Frisbee!
That’s not-
Think about it! It sticks in your mind better, doesn’t it? And much better than C-Captain Comeback! *guffaw*
It’s… Oh, for- This ends this session. Thank you for your time. Seriously, Heatstro-

Flash Renegades AU: The Elementalist
Lines and final editing by me. Colours done by Waterwindow. :D
The Elementalist is the head of R&D who prefers not to step foot into the field if he had a say in it. Most of the time he doesn’t, unless it was an emergency, or a situation which requires full extermination. His pouch carries small orbs which contain different elemental properties (with the exception of the disintegration orbs) which could be triggered by voice command. They could also be slotted into his gun which could then utilise the elements of the orbs (different combinations for different outcomes possible).
I took a leaf out of Heatstroke’s book for his gas mask design as I personally thought his old style tubing would be an easy target (I’m not sure how that works, don’t ask 8D”). I covered his entire body with the suit as he doesn’t have the stone’s protection against the elements unlike Albert who bared his neck and hands. The rest of the design stayed pretty close to Mr. Element’s.
Thanks so much for letting me color it mein :D The edits look lovely
If anyone had the right to color this Water, it was you~ And it looks fantastic~ Great job both of you~
biacomcafe replied to your post: I ship you and amnesic!Commander.
What justm3h said. It would be the cutest thing ever.(( I agree))
…….
Jack stared at the clock in horror…
24 hours.
The 24 hour curse that the Commander had been under was over.
But the man he had been dating still didn’t remember a thing. Not his name, his profession, or Jack himself.
Nothing.
“Jack… I’m sorry…”
“It’s not your fault… You didn’t give yourself amnesia…”
“I still blame myself-” He stopped when Jack, eyes wet with tears that threatened to fall, grabbed the sides of the blond man’s face, forcing him to look at him.
“No Nick… Don’t ever blame this on yourself, you hear me. Don’t… Don’t.” He croaked… He… “Blame them… Don’t blame yourself. I love you. I miss you… please please… ” The man of mirror leaned forward to steal a quick kiss. “Don’t forget me…”
He could have hoped for a miracle of some sort… A kiss could awaken his love and then he would be back in his arms. Green eyes searched for any form of recognition to flash in the other man’s face.
But there was nothing and he silently started to sob.
“Jack… Jack please look at me.” Hands now held his own pulling him into a hug.
“Do you remember?” Hope?
“No… but… This… it feels right… I don’t want to you to be sad… or gone. or forgot… I don’t remember you but the kiss… I don’t want to lose you…” He spared enough room between them for another kiss. This one longer and closer and like before left Jack with a smile.
Things were going to be rough… but it would be ok.
((And some more~ 8D
A little more on his mental state. From the little comic drawn of him the other day. I see Top as like just a bubble of emotion and anger at the moment. Anger at pretty much everyone and everything. Even if that anger isn’t justified, and even if part of him knows that anger isn’t justified.
I feel that, I’m really trying to find the right words to say this (because I suck at words), he’s shut down a little bit more. When Heatstroke comes to visit him he’s [Top] not as open as he used to be. Neither of them are hostile or cold, but you can tell that there’s a sense of hurt, betrayal, and a smidge of anger coming from Lance, and Unjustified anger, sorrow, and shame coming from Top. They’re still civil and have conversations [a lot of times stilted on Tops end], but Lance could never forgive him and their relationship could never truly be the same.
As I said before Top has a lot of mixed and contradicting emotions right now. What went down was traumatic on all ends especially his. The anger, guilt, desperation, and depression has worn him down. I would think that since this time is harder on it’s inmates then ours, (and those with emotional, psychological, and/or psychiatric issues are exactly treated with the most sympathy or empathy in the 21st century) the most help that Top has received for these issues is the occasional visit with Heatstroke.
He’s not being mistreated or abused during his incarceration, Commander made sure of that, but he’s not receiving much in the way of therapy. He’s had to find his own ways to quell the rise of emotions.
I’m really loving these. 8)
Anon also said, if anything contradicts anyone’s headcanons, please say so.
Anon also had this to say:
…the only thing I wasn’t able to come up for him was a name and age. [though I am thinking older monarch, younger than lance maybe a year older or a couple years younger than commander, but I don’t know]
Monarch decided on the name Benedict. (8 ))
So far Anon, it looks like you’ve been perfect. I’m glad you’ve expanded so much on Top’s relationship with Heatstroke because I feel the same about it.
Just adding with a bit of my own head canon, Heatstroke, ever since the Top’s betrayal, has been looking out more for his teammates, noticing things things he hasn’t before. He honestly feels that if he had known, not necessarily about the Top’s past but that he was feeling off, he could have prevented the whole thing from happening.
((They wanted me to share their theory as well as keep them anonymous to everyone else. ^-^
I was thinking that on the childhood aspect Top either grew up in several foster homes, or grew up with absentee parents, practically raising himself. He didn’t have anyone to look up to in person. No father or mother figure.
He didn’t go to the best school growing up and didn’t have the best education, but he made do with what he had. Growing up it seemed that he didn’t have a chance to be anything more than a minimum wage worker.
He did best with what he had educationally, enlisted, and clawed his way up the hierarchy.
Finally finding his way into the renegades. He’s never really had any close friends or relationships. He’s had a couple friends and acquaintances, but they never really stayed in his life for any prolonged amount of time, and though he’s used to it, he’s not exactly content with it. Which is why he attempted to get along with and gain the acceptance of everyone on the team. He was finally getting what he was denied most of his life.
Joining the Renegades was pretty much the happiest moment of his life. He was part of a team. He was being accepted as part of a group and was finally being given a chance to break the cycle.
The dramatic Irony here is that technically the system had him screwed over since before he was born. He never really had a chance, because his ancestor ruined that the moment he committed a crime.
I’m about to go into his mental state now that he’s been in prison, but I want to know your opinion of how all this fits into your head canons.
He wanted to be someone and to break out of the situation he was brought up in.
I was thinking that as for how his mental state is now that he’s landed himself in prison. Is that his emotions are mixed. They’re a mixture of fair and unfair emotions.
What I mean is that He’s angry at himself for the decision he made, he’s mad that he’s had to make that decision. He’s also kinda mad at Barry for re-opening his ancestor’s case, even though part of his mind knows that Barry was just doing his job and had no way of knowing that re-opening the case would result the way it did.
He’s tired. He’s fought all his life to have a chance at something better and now here he is in prison, with no job, having betrayed his few friends, with only one of two contacts to the outside world in the form of Heatstroke.
He’s completely sane and his thoughts are in line with reality it’s just that he’s given up. He’s fought so hard to be a decent working member of society only to be knocked down by the system that he fought to uphold.
He’s tried so hard to go somewhere in life, but it’s seems that since before he was born the system has destined him to be a criminal and that’s who he’s going to be, not of his own accord though. He holds a grudge against the system, feeling that it was them who made him who he is, and they are to blame for the situation he’s in.
This is fantastic. Really quite perfect.
Hey Anon, if you don’t mind could I link to this in my head canon list. I’m trying to keep all renegade information in one place (HERE) because its so based on fan theories XP;;; Just send me an ask ok? I don’t want to step on your toes or anything but this is fantastic and I would love to hear more.
The anons are never going to stop, are they…?
Very serious draw.
